love the new artwork! greta did an awesome job
So excited to see a follow-up vid! Definitely some cool games here I haven't heard of that i gotta pick up! I spent a lotta hours playing the Dragon Quest Monsters and Spectrobes games and they are for sure worth playing. For Spectrobes, I played the first two games on the DS which were great, but I never tried the Wii sequel. Dragon Quest Monsters is my bread and butter though, specifically the Joker sub-series; I started out with Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2, which imo is a great place to jump in. It teaches you the mechanics well, the gameplay is the kind of open world like in Legends: Arceus, and the monster designs are ungodly good. I agree the series is super confusing when it comes to picking a game, especially since only the first two base Joker games were released internationally. Right now, I'm playing through a fan-translated version of Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 Professional (the 'professional' games are kinda like the third games in a pokémon generation but they add a ton more monsters and quests) on a Citra 3DS emulator and it's easily one of the best Monster Tamer games I've ever played. It has almost every monster from the series' history (which is close to 1000), a hilarious story with companions, an expanded battle system, and my personal favorite feature: the ability to ride any monster in the game, which (depending on the monster) can allow you to run faster, jump higher, and fly. Unfortunately, it's also the last game in the series, as of 2022. I've typed a heckin lot but I'm so excited that you're giving the series a try and I hope you get as much enjoyment out of it as I do :)))
also as a last fun tidbit: my favorite monster in the series is Stormsgate Citadel. it looks hilarious to ride on and fly about and fight with cause… its just a building hahahahaha. i also love riding around on my Cruelcumber, which you might know from DQXI, cause he never stops dancing, even when you ride him. overall: 11/10 gud game 😁🤩
ni no kuni wrath of the white witch has amazing monsters to catch i highly recommend it!
0:41 points at the screen There, that's me! Even though I didn't actually suggest anything.
Oh man, I remember Spectrobes. My brother had that one. I didn't really play it much because, well, it belonged to my brother, but I remember it. Seemed cool back then.
I also appreciate the deep cuts in this video, like this obscure old "Pokémon Red" game.
I got a game that's pretty much a pokemon or monster taming game but it's more different and that game is Citizens Unite Earth x Space you get to play both of my favorite games of all time where you recruit the many wonderful citizens from both games and every party member has their own unique personalities and skills anyway great video and I'm super interested to check out these games.
Hi yes allow me to gush about fossil fighters! XD
5:41 Fossil fighters Champions on the DS is the good one, and is even better then the first in my vote, with the added ability of picking a starter (out of 4) and even adding something known as super revival which basicly allows you to change the color of your vivosaur, effects its stats, and for some vivosaurs even evolved them into something else.
The "bad one" would be Fossil Fighters Frontier on the 3ds, as they removed allot of what made the first 2 games so great, some examples i can give would be
>the removal of all aquatic vivosaurs that lived in the ocean, all super revivals, and even the black crown "legendary" type vivosaurs
>all digsites (which been design into what looks and feels like a race track) and the ability to explore certains places in them is now fully done in a car which can be really difficult to control allot of the times (driving across narrow cliffs, trying not to fall and start the track over has happen countless times to me) >the fight system got change sadly for the worst tho its hard to explain with out gameplay, fire is no longer strong against earth, its now strong against wind (which has thrown me off countless amount of times due to how much i played the first two games), changing the typing of past vivosaurs and redesigning them into something completely new, but keeping their old names (why not just create a new vivosaur instead of this i have no idea)
Some people dont have a problem with frontier, some of the few good things i can say about it is i loved the relationship the player has with their starter, and theres a colorful cast of characters and a nice soundtrack but the gameplay is what greatly holds this game back for allot of us sadly (allot of the digsites are a nightmare to explore on) </3 theres also a few fossil fighters 1 and 2 references but sadly they're only npc names in the arena and nothing more then that </3 (while champion's had returning characters that you could see or even speak to in post game and by wifi events)
Im not sure about a dragon quest monsters entry point, but Id say joker and joker two were pretty easy for child me to get into!
Can I recommend Medabots? Technically it is a game about robots but it plays like a monster tamer game. The problem is it's getting harder to actually play them without emulating.
Thanks for bringing Coromon to my attention. Definitely interested in giving it a look 👍
Your voice gain in confidence after the last time i hear you, also your new look is such pretty! Very much lovely for a valentine date! (I'm late i know lol)
Anyway about your video 4:16 Oh i Playing the game once i was kid it such fun and really interesting gameplay event if i admit the two playeur make the second one playing the monster while the first one only play the humain with such lovely and amazing design weapon! i genuinely hope one day this franchise could come back in the actual (or next in less…) Generation of console, I really want to seeing another episode like i want Sony make another Playstation All Star battle Royale because the potential of this franchise are such great!
5:07 Wait seriously this pokemon are inspired by a dinosaur and not a Bunny animal? Why you always make thing THAT much confusing gamefreak?
