Hi! Coromon is a very (emphasis in VERY) pokemon-like indie game released some time ago. It’s fun, graphics are cute, music is nice, and that’s about it. It took the pokemon formula, added nicer sprites and QoL improvements like the ability to set Nuzlocke rules right away.
My gripe with it is that it didn’t do enough to separate itself from pokemon. Just look at my thumbnail, the player looks like a pokemon go trainer. The creatures are cute and imaginative enough but they do the exact same thing as pokemon during battles, they just stand there bobbing from side to side and sometimes do a little jump to signify an attack.
I do apologize if I come off as being too harsh on the game. I enjoyed my time playing it, I just didn’t feel they did enough to separate itself from pokemon. If anything it felt like they were intentionally trying to emulate it in order to gather attention from pokemon fans. Maybe if I kept playing there would’ve been a twist or a sudden change in genre, but I don’t know. This is just my first impressions after all.
But who knows? Maybe I am completely wrong and in some years we will have competitive Coromon leagues or something. Sometimes what people want is more of the same. Hopefully the devs keep honing their skills and bring us something extraordinary in their next game o3o!
On a personal note, I apologize for the lack of content. It has been a rough couple of months and despite my best efforts I haven’t been able to keep up with my own schedule. I really hope I can get back to recording in time for Spooky month. Please excuse my lack of profesionalism.
