Coromon has implemented a “shiny” system that allows for two different palette swaps, both based on the creature’s actual stats. It essentially fuses the two rolls of stats+shiny into one where a perfect coromon is a shiny because it’s perfect.

  1. It's great that there is actually a reason to catch differently colored monsters outside of just an opportunity to brag to your friends about catching a more rare variation. As a person who just recently got interested in monster catching games I don't understand what is the point of shinies in pokemon because they are basically just recolors.
can't wait for the next editing stream btw

  2. Coromon version of EV training is also the greatest I've seen yet, Probablly the one mechnical change I'd do to Temtem is replace TVs with a system similar to Coromon.

  3. In Pokémon there’s a frustrating system in which you’ll need to max your monster to level 100 then you’ll be able to train the IV stats. This was introduced in gen 7 so I guess you can save your shiny from sucking though it requires a lot of time and grind so I prefer this method

  4. Absolutely love Coromon and the games different mechanics. Can't wait for the full game to come out! Thus far I have all perfects that are available including some extras so if they introduce trading, I got you Ed!

  5. An interesting system although to me it seems to mimic a rarity skin like in a game that has bronze tier then Silver tier and gold or something. I don't think you could really call it a shiny mechanic because they turned it into an indication instead of it being its own feature. If this didn't make sense I'll clarify.

  6. 3:20 You know there’s always going to be that one person who is going to complain that they can’t have a perfect standard coromon. 😆 I haven’t played coromon or looked too much into it, yet, but I can see the pros and cons. From a purely casual standpoint, I love this system way more. Having a couple of different looks to the coromon to show its strength is interesting to me and honestly, gives a lot of collector’s reason to try to get the best coromon they can get. You can actually show-off your perfects way more now than just saying you have a perfect like in Pokémon haha. From a competitive standpoint, it’s going to be awful without ways to increase the chances for perfects. Having approx. a 1/3,000 chance to get a coromon that is considered “battle ready” would be annoying. Assuming that there isn’t a way to increase that chance like in Pokémon where breeding can pass down stats or in let’s go where catching the same Pokémon consecutively will net better stats. But of course, then that mitigates the value of “shinies.” If you’re able to breed better stats (assuming there’s breeding in this game), then you can just keep manufacturing potent and perfect mons haha.

  8. Honestly (and please don't flame me for playing this game) loomian legacy has a pretty cool shiny system having 2, alpha and gamma alpha is just switched color while gamma is a wisp floating around it while having a different color and their called gleams

  9. Just got the demo and the literal first thing I found in the grass outside the first town was a potent silquill

YOOOO WAIT MIND BLOWN RN, so I’ve been playing a couple hours and I found a few portents and during one section of the game I got the potential scanner item or whatever it’s called for like 5 minutes while I was saving some dude from a cave and whilst I had it I used it and checked my mons potential and I had a potent houndos with a potential of 20, so I took it to the potentiflator and for only 500 gold I left my houndos there and it went to 21 and became a PERFECT, that’s literally the coolest thing ever

  10. To work around the cosmetic bamboozle. If you throw out a coromom have its little icon come out. The one that shows the type level and potential. Or always have the original color palette have a "no cosmetics in tournament type of rule"
